I have a really exciting longer article in the works on this year’s Olympics and women x sports, including features on two of my favorite brands leading this space. Until then, a less insightful synopsis of what’s happening in my brain/life right now…
Someone heard me talk about the need to re-brand the government because suddenly the new democratic nominee has some pretty impressive cultural influence (either a Gen Z intern or your gay best friend running Kamala’s marketing team – props to them)
Speaking of cultural influence, I’m really impressed by the Olympics this year… Aside from the celebs, TikToks, and memes capturing our attention, this year’s games stand out in terms of its gender equality and sustainability nods. Thanks to the IOC’s efforts, Paris is setting the new standard for what all of us viewed as a historically pretty wasteful event. I like.
I’ve been trying to convince my friend, Will, to open a California-inspired breakfast burritos truck/stand in the city since we are seriously lacking some potatoes in our ‘ritos. Son Del North opened on Orchard St in the Lower East Side instead…
I’m noticing that among my friends, we all have a million things hitting us all at once right now – Moving apartments, changing cities, new jobs, career pivots, breakups, engagements, etc. Is this something to do with Mercury? I’m trying to take the pressure off, be less psycho about overly planning everything, and listen to songs like this that make you feel like life is silly and things work out
I’m working on a high-profile airline client right now and want to better understand how our generation views air travel… Hang out in the polls below!
Speaking of work, this week was my first time ~business traveling~. I couldn’t help but think that the delayed flight and resulting 9pm Atlanta Airport TGI Fridays excursion with my co-workers could have all been a Teams call (more on work culture soon…)
A very hot (or should I say, humid) take, but summer is low key the worst. It’s now August and I feel like I’ve spent more time on the Amtrak Northeast Regional than I have with my own roommate. We’re all gone every weekend, there’s no new music or SNL episodes, and I’m overall just exhausted. I can’t wait for the fall to lounge on the couch with a bagel and my best friends and not feel the constant urge to be picking heirloom tomatoes by the beach (on that note, is anyone selling a couch?)
This just in from my resident friend in finance – Things aren’t looking too good right now, guys… You know who you are, thank you.
My family got a puppy (no she is not another yellow lab). I’ve found myself adopting the millennial parenting habits that my cousin subconsciously engrained in me and that I’m such a fan of: *Dog barking,* me: “oh, is that frustrating for you? I can see why… I’m sorry”
I’m riding in the PMC this weekend. The weatherman said the air will feel like “thick, hot soup” with scattered thunderstorms. Boo yah!

Either Warby Parker or the mechanical bull riding industry should sponsor pommel horse guy. He is the rubik’s cube guy we all know from middle school. I love him.
Nike should do an ad campaign with the Olympics’s “Bob the Cap Catcher” guy – Not actually, but they do need to do something SO out there to get people engaged again
Kamala Harris should be the new face of Vita Coco re falling out of coconut trees. My inside source tells me they don’t want to get involved in politics…
Can someone please open a corner pub where you celebrate all community raw raw events (Olympics, solar eclipses, etc)
I’m seeing knee length jorts everywhere and want to brand them “Capri Bums.” You will not see me wearing these
